Sage Spirit Terra has what in many cultures is known as a “sweat” Lodge. We call it the Sacred Healing Lodge of Fire & Water
because there is a perfect Balance of All of the Elements –
Earth, Air, Fire and Water. But more importantly there is perfect balance between the Male and Female Energies – the Sacred Dance of Duality on Mother Earth.
The Stones from the Earth are being heated by the masculine energies of air & fire. The fire circle is surrounded by stones from other Lodges. The Firekeeper and participants choose the stones after praying & discussing the Healing with the Lodge Keeper. The fire is layed around the Stones and lit, it will burn for a couple of hours before The Stones are ready to be taken to the participants in the Lodge.
There is an altar between the Fire & the Lodge as well as a Spirit Line that only the Fire Keeper can cross. The Altar is the Center of a figure 8 energetically. The energy flows into the Lodge from the Left to Right in a clockwise manner, crosses the Center and flows into the fire circle, Right to Left, circle around and in the Fire, clearing toxins of many sorts. The Altar is the Center between the Fire & Lodge.
The Lodge Keeper communes with Source/Creator; Mother, Father God the One known by a Thousand Names, All That Is, prior to and during the Lodge. The Lodge is the Womb with an Earthen bowl in the Center waiting to receive the Glowing Hot Stones, known as Grandmothers & Grandfathers. The Stones & Bones hold the Wisdom of the Earth. The earth from the Bowl went to make the Altar. There is no light in the Lodge, except from the glow of the rocks. Once the Stones have been placed in the bowl, herbs of blessing, healing & gratitude are placed on the stones. Ceremony continues with the Fire Keeper bringing in the Water, which is poured over the Hot Stones & so begins the first round. There are sually four rounds, one for each Sacred Direction & the four Elements.
Source/Creator concludes the ceremony we all exit to our left so as not to cross the Spirit Line from the center of the Fire to Center of the Lodge.
Our Lodges are privately requested Healings.
Each is unique to the individuals seeking help.
We have been privileged to have had John “Many Voices” Armbruster pour as well as Dan Wenglarz, who supervised the Lodge's construction. Warfield Moose, the last Lakota Medicine person to perform ceremony in this Lodge, the third Lodge since 1996.
This Lodge was retired in a good way on Saturday, October 31, 2009 by burning all of the Lodge poles in Sacred Ceremony after four plus years of Service.
We honored the Lodge, The Lodge Keepers and the Healing that was done by the individuals participating in the Lodge.
On November 2, 2009 we spread apples from our trees where the Lodge had been to honor and feed the Spirits and the animals in the forest.
When Creator/Source deems it appropriate, another Lodge will be constructed in a Sacred way after the Vernal Equinox.
